So this week has been quite wonderful, yesterday and today in particular. Even though I had to wake up at 5am every bloody day for work and work with some very idiotic people, it wasn’t a bad week. Today I had the higher up dude at work tell me that I motivate the entire team and basically is making me the supervisor kind of deal… I’ve been working there for two weeks, mhm. I work tomorrow BUT, I came home yesterday to my girlfriend doing her homeworks, we made famous pasta sauce for dinner, had cheesecake and she bought me my Nikki Sixx book that I’ve been dying to have for quite some time as a surprise. I found out my parents are no longer moving across the country. They are still moving but only about 5 hours away so I can still see them on weekends and such. Ughhh. I have a date tomorrow, bought a whole new outfit (heels included) for the occasion. We are going shopping and then out for dinner. THEN I have a cam chat date on Sunday with my Thanyyyy. I work tomorrow, which is a bummer, which means I don’t get a three day weekend…boo. BUT..That’s okay. I was told I was adorable at work numberous times by the older ladies, whom I adore. Made some new friends so I don’t feel so alone in this city anymore. And ugh.. Yeah… I like the x factor. THE END. OH AND I PLAYED BOARD GAMES ALL NIGHT WHEN I GOT HOME THE OTHER NIGHT….the end.
Five Ways To Become Happy Without Trying;
The scent of nostalgia
“Smell goes directly to the limbic system, which is the brain’s emotional center. It’s pure affect of our emotional sense,” he says. “So more than any other sense, smell can draw up memories and invoke nostalgia from images of the past.”
Let the sun shine
There’s a reason you’ve tacked a magazine spread of Maui to your wall. For many, there’s nothing like a bit of sunshine to perk up a flat mood.
Dance, dance revolution
You may not care to admit it publicly, but let’s be honest: at one point in your life, alone, and in the privacy of your bedroom, you’ve danced your tail off to a techno song.
A side effect of dance music exposure is impromptu dance parties. The kind of spontaneous breakouts between two or more people that end in flailing limbs, lung-straining singalongs and unrestrained laughter.
Waves of happiness
If I asked you to think of the most relaxing image out there, you very well might picture the ocean, stretches of sand and the gentle roar of waves.
You’ve got mail
So in an age of electronic interaction, receiving a personal letter in your physical mailbox can give you an unexpected thrill.
“I love opening my snail mail and finding a package,” says engineer Valeh Aleyaseen. “This happened to me today and it was awesome!” Environmental services professional Maria Nicolaidis agrees. “Receiving a letter, pen and paper, is a lost art that I miss so much.”
However the wave of happiness one is a bit different for me, I’d rather be in a quiet library or something of the sort as a relaxing environment.
